Faulkner Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate and dependable Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join their collaborative small animal practice. Requirements

  • Clinical confidence, dependability, and a genuine passion for patient and client care
  • Comfortable balancing patient care, teamwork, and hospital priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experienced in or interested in small animal veterinary medicine
  • Confident with patient restraint, handling, and clinical support
  • Organized, dependable, and able to prioritize in a busy hospital
  • Strong communicator and collaborative teammate
  • Comfortable working independently while knowing when to ask for support
  • Committed to compassionate, low-stress patient care
  • Eager to learn, grow, and contribute to a positive hospital culture
  • Ability to lift and restrain animals up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to frequently bend, kneel, reach, and move throughout the hospital
  • Comfortable safely handling animals of varying sizes and temperaments, including fearful or fractious patients
  • Comfortable working around animal dander, bodily fluids, cleaning products, medications, and other veterinary hospital materials while following appropriate safety, sanitation, and PPE protocols

Nice To Haves

  • Veterinary Technicians with LVT, RVT, or CVT credentials
  • Experienced non-credentialed technicians
  • Experience with laboratory diagnostics, radiology, dentistry, surgery, or anesthesia monitoring

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with appointments, diagnostics, and treatments
  • Provide safe, compassionate patient restraint and handling
  • Obtain patient histories and document medical records
  • Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas
  • Collect laboratory samples and assist with in-house diagnostics
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed
  • Assist with surgery, dentistry, anesthesia, and patient recovery
  • Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes to the medical team
  • Educate clients on medications, preventative care, and discharge instructions
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient hospital
  • Support an exceptional experience for every client and patient
