About The Position

VCA Tri County Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant Supervisor to join their team. This is a full-time position at a 4-doctor, full-service veterinary hospital located in Fort Pierce, FL, offering primary care, illness care, surgery, and dentistry. The hospital operates with extended hours, including evenings and Saturdays. The role involves directing workflow, fostering a positive work environment, collaborating with management, assisting in hiring and onboarding, and mentoring veterinary technicians.

Requirements

5+ years of clinical experience
Team leadership experience
Passion for Veterinary Medicine
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Responsibilities

Directing workflow on the floor
Cultivate an engaging work environment and maintain our strong hospital culture
Work cohesively with hospital management and supervisory teams to aid in the progression of the hospital
Help with the interview process for potential new hires and onboard all new associates
Assists in the educational development of technicians and their skills
Conduct staff meetings
Provide opportunities for staff to gain more firsthand experience
Mentoring technicians within the department
Resolve conflicts in a professional and humble manner
Refining and implementing protocols
Ensure that VCA polices, guidelines, and recommendations are implemented by all members of the technical staff.
