Animal Dermatology Clinic - Rocklin is seeking a Veterinary Assistant/ Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team. Requirements

  • Previous experience or training/education in a veterinary facility
  • Must be friendly, outgoing, and people-oriented
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Professionalism and strong patient care focus
  • Capable of being cross-trained for front office receptionist duties
  • Telephone and computer skills required
  • Team player willing to learn new techniques, treatments, and accept change
  • Minimum 2 years of veterinary experience required
  • Dependable attendance required
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
  • Ability to walk, bend, stand, squat, or reach constantly during a minimum 8-hour day

Nice To Haves

  • Veterinary dermatology experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assists technicians and other clinic staff by care and cleaning of patients and facilities, including assisting in patient treatments, preparing antigens, assisting with surgical preparation/clean up and all other animal care functions as well as other tasks involved in the operations of a veterinary clinic.
  • Demonstrate excellent relations with clients and pets in waiting and exam rooms
  • Exceed client expectations of service
  • Provide compassionate nursing care (top priority for all patients)
  • Housekeeping and maintenance
  • Perform cursory examinations of animals
  • Recognize potential patient issues
  • Clearly communicate findings to a doctor
  • Record keeping
  • Fill prescriptions and dispense medications as prescribed
  • Preparing and restraining animals during procedures
  • Assisting in surgery
  • Applying bandages and/or splints
