About The Position

Homestead Veterinary Hospital is seeking a compassionate and versatile team member to support both patient care and front desk operations, working with both small animal and equine patients. This role involves a mix of clinical support and client interaction, contributing to the smooth functioning of a busy veterinary practice.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant and/or Veterinary Receptionist preferred
• Compassionate, calm, and team-oriented with strong communication skills
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable properly restraining pets
• Proficient in collecting samples, obtaining medical histories, processing lab tests, and assisting with radiographs (anesthesia monitoring is a plus)
• Strong computer skills and ability to manage scheduling, calls, and client communication
• Self-starter with a desire to continue growing knowledge and skillset

Nice To Haves

• Anesthesia monitoring is a plus

Responsibilities

• Restrain pets and assist with exams, procedures, and surgery (including anesthesia support)
• Triage patients and assist with diagnostics (lab samples, imaging)
• Provide nursing care and administer medications
• Communicate treatment plans with clients
• Greet clients, manage calls/emails, and schedule appointments
• Check clients in/out, process payments, and maintain reception area
• Offer empathetic support to clients during sensitive situations
