About The Position

Cornerstone Animal Hospital is hiring a compassionate, hardworking team member for a hybrid role combining veterinary kennel assistant duties with hands-on veterinary assistant responsibilities. The position involves caring for pets, supporting patient treatment and hospital operations, and learning and growing in the veterinary profession. Veterinary experience is not required for the right candidate; motivated individuals will be trained. This is a full-time position with availability needed Monday through Friday and rotating weekends. The schedule consists of three weekdays with 10-hour shifts, rotating Saturdays with 7-hour shifts, and rotating morning and evening Sunday treatments for boarding patients. Compensation is $15–$17 per hour. Cornerstone Animal Hospital is a well-established, two-doctor small animal practice serving North Richland Hills and nearby communities. It treats canine and feline patients and provides general and urgent care, routine procedures, advanced soft tissue surgeries, and access to complex orthopedic procedures through a traveling orthopedic surgeon. Requirements

At least 1 year of experience as a veterinary kennel assistant or kennel technician is preferred; no veterinary experience is required for the right candidate.
Related animal-care experience, such as boarding or doggy daycare work or an FFA or 4-H background, will be considered.
Genuine passion for animal care and patient well-being.
Confidence working with dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments.
Ability to safely handle, restrain, walk, and monitor animals under supervision.
Strong awareness of animal behavior and willingness to learn patient-safety and handling techniques.
Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative.

Physical ability to meet the demands of a hands-on animal-care role.

Responsibilities

Provide daily care, feeding, and cleaning for hospitalized and boarding pets.
Walk, exercise, and monitor patients for comfort and well-being.
Safely restrain patients for examinations and treatments.
Assist veterinarians and technicians during appointments and procedures.
Prepare exam rooms and medical supplies.
Help with patient treatments, medication administration, and diagnostic procedures.
Support client service and patient care throughout the hospital.
