Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for an Inpatient Veterinary Assistant to work in the Intermediate Care (IMC), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Emergency Room (ER) section of our Bailey Small Animal Teaching Hospital. The individual in this position will work directly with the IMC clinicians and rotating intern doctors to help facilitate quality care and patient flow through the IMC, ICU, and ER. This is a day shift rotating monthly between weekends and weekdays. Monday – Thursday 7:00AM – 5:00PM, Friday -Sunday 7:00AM – 8:00PM. This position involves direct contact with animals susceptible to rabies. Employees in this role must complete a rabies pre-exposure vaccination series and maintain adequate rabies antibody titer (≥0.5 IU/mL) as recommended by CDC guidelines. Auburn University will cover the cost of the rabies vaccination series, periodic titer checks, and any necessary boosters.
