Veterinary Assistant - Dermatology
About The Position
BluePearl Pet Hospital located in Midtown, Manhattan is hiring an extraordinary Dermatology Veterinary Assistant! This role involves heavy client communication, obtaining patient history, and performing various dermatology-related tasks. The ideal candidate will be comfortable using dermatology terms, preparing samples for diagnostics, recognizing skin conditions, and assisting with patient care, including diagnostic procedures and treatments. Additionally, the role requires preparing prescriptions and communicating discharge instructions to clients, along with proficiency in aseptic techniques and laboratory procedures.
Requirements
- Comfortable with heavy client communication
- Able to obtain patient's history
- Able to use Dermatology terms
- Able to recognize alopecia, nodules and tumors
- Familiar and proficient with aseptic techniques
- Familiar with laboratory procedures and practices
Nice To Haves
- Comfortable with routine dermatology medications and side effects
- Swab for Otic Cytology, and ear mite preparation
- Prepare for Skin Biopsy
