About The Position

A growing veterinary practice in the Sacramento, California area is seeking an experienced veterinarian who is interested in combining hands-on clinical medicine with greater involvement in team development and practice growth. This position is well suited for a DVM with a strong background in small-animal medicine, surgery, and dentistry who enjoys mentoring colleagues and would like to have a meaningful role in the development of a growing hospital.

Requirements

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree.
  • Active California veterinary license in good standing.
  • 3+ years of veterinary clinical experience.
  • Strong foundation in general medicine, surgery, and dentistry.
  • Comfortable managing cases independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with veterinarians and support staff.
  • Interest in professional growth and practice development.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous mentoring, leadership, or management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to small-animal patients.
  • Diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions.
  • Perform routine surgical and dental procedures.
  • Develop appropriate treatment and follow-up plans for patients.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for other veterinarians and support staff.
  • Mentor and assist in the professional development of associate veterinarians.
  • Support consistent medical protocols and quality-of-care standards.
  • Work with hospital leadership to improve clinical workflows and patient care.
  • Contribute to a positive client and team experience.
  • Participate in initiatives that support the continued growth of the practice.
