About The Position

Chico Creek Animal Hospital is seeking a veterinarian to join their multi-doctor team in Chico, CA. The hospital is a busy, well-established practice with a strong emphasis on quality medicine, teamwork, and client relationships. They are looking for a collaborative doctor to support a growing caseload. The hospital boasts an experienced support team, an efficient doctor workflow, and a highly collaborative environment where doctors regularly consult on cases. The Hospital Manager, Jocelyn, is an experienced RVT focused on communication, team morale, and staff development. The team is long-standing and known for being kind, welcoming, and supportive. The facility includes exam rooms, a dedicated surgery suite, a dental area, digital radiology, an in-house laboratory, ultrasound, therapeutic laser, modern dental equipment, and an in-house and online pharmacy. The practice offers small animal general practice services, wellness, preventative care, diagnostics, same-day urgent care, soft tissue surgery (including advanced procedures), dentistry, some orthopedic procedures, acupuncture, and therapeutic laser. Doctors with special interests are encouraged, and Fear-Free principles and low-stress handling are promoted.

Requirements

  • DVM or equivalent from an accredited veterinary school.
  • Active California veterinary license or ability to obtain one.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Comfortable in a team-based hospital.
  • Committed to low-stress patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with colleagues and support a growing caseload.
  • Consult on cases, rechecks, diagnostics, and treatment plans.
  • Provide small animal general practice services.
  • Perform wellness, preventative care, and diagnostics.
  • Handle same-day urgent care, walk-ins, and drop-offs.
  • Perform soft tissue surgery, including advanced procedures.
  • Perform dentistry, including dental radiographs and extractions.
  • Perform some orthopedic procedures.
  • Administer acupuncture and therapeutic laser treatments.
  • Practice excellent medicine in a busy, well-established hospital.
