About The Position
CareVet of Bethel is seeking a full-time Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) to join their growing Kansas City, Kansas practice. This role is designed to support professional and personal success with a generous bonus package, six-figure base plus production, paid family leave, personalized 1:1 coaching, and flexible scheduling. The DVM will join a 3-doctor team supported by experienced technicians and staff, focusing on compassionate, high-quality care. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a positive, team-oriented attitude, enjoys building relationships, values collaboration, and wants to grow their own book of business within a loyal client base. The practice offers full-service, high-quality medicine including dental care, wellness, vaccines, ultrasound, and surgery in a calm, comfortable environment. The role involves a four-day work week with a rotating Saturday, offering a balanced schedule.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
- Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
- Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
- Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
- Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
- Strong fondness and understanding of animals
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of animal behavior
- Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals
Responsibilities
- Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
- Treat and dress wounds
- Perform surgery on animals
- Test for and vaccinate against diseases
- Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
- Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
- Prescribe medication
- Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care
