About The Position

NB Animal Urgent Care in New Braunfels, Texas is seeking an experienced veterinarian who excels in urgent care and surgery. This role offers the chance to practice high-quality medicine without the overnight ER schedule. The veterinarian will diagnose and treat urgent and emergency cases, perform procedures, and work with an experienced, supportive team. The position involves practicing fast-paced medicine, handling emergency cases, performing soft tissue surgery, critical thinking, and collaborating with veterinary technicians.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD)
Eligible for or licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Texas
Previous experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, general practice with surgery, or emergency surgery
Confident surgical skills and sound medical judgment
Excellent communication and client education skills
Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude
Experience with emergency veterinary medicine or urgent care
Experience with soft tissue surgery
Experience with emergency surgery
Experience with surgical wound management
Experience with trauma cases
Experience with laceration repair
Experience with diagnostic imaging
Experience with internal medicine
Experience with critical care
Experience with emergency triage
Experience with pain management
Experience with hospitalized patient care

Responsibilities

Examining and treating urgent and emergency canine and feline patients
Performing soft tissue surgery and emergency surgical procedures
Interpreting digital radiographs, point-of-care ultrasound, and in-house laboratory diagnostics
Stabilizing medical and surgical emergencies
Developing treatment plans and communicating recommendations with pet owners
Collaborating closely with experienced veterinary technicians and support staff
Providing compassionate, high-quality patient care while maintaining excellent medical records
