About The Position

Animal Health Center of Scottsbluff, a CareVet partner, is seeking a compassionate, part-time Associate Veterinarian to join our thriving small animal practice in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. The part-time schedule averages 18–20 hours per week with flexible scheduling to support work-life balance. Animal Health Center is a thriving two doctor, small animal practice with a strong support team offering high quality, full coverage health care for pets. The practice has been a pillar in the community since 1993, and is located in a large, stand-alone facility with boarding/grooming services. Scottsbluff is located a three hour drive from Denver, Colorado, Scottsbluff is a town in Nebraska with a population of 14,805 and has a casual suburban feel. The town boasts affordable home prices, many parks, and both young professionals and families.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
  • Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
  • Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
  • Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
  • Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
  • Strong fondness and understanding of animals
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of animal behavior
  • Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals

Responsibilities

  • Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
  • Treat and dress wounds
  • Perform surgery on animals
  • Test for and vaccinate against diseases
  • Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
  • Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
  • Prescribe medication
  • Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care
