About The Position

Cobb Veterinary Clinic is a full-service mixed animal hospital that has grown from a mobile veterinarian service to a comprehensive facility over the past 40 years. They serve a wide range of animals, from small pets to large equine and livestock. The clinic is looking to expand its two-doctor team by adding another veterinarian. They offer a $75,000 sign-on bonus and are seeking a creative and driven individual who values a familial work environment. While there is a strong need for a small animal veterinarian with surgical skills, the clinic also supports the development of large animal caseloads. The position involves utilizing advanced equipment such as digital radiography, ultrasound, and endoscopy, and an in-house laboratory with Coggins testing. The new veterinarian will contribute to providing quality care to patients in the Midland, Odessa, Greenwood, and Stanton communities.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
Appropriate state licensure.
Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Nice To Haves

DVMs of all experience levels are welcome.
Passion for surgery (for small animal focus).
Ability to build out own large animal caseload.

Responsibilities

Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
Maintain patients’ medical records.
Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.
