About The Position

Grantsburg Animal Hospital and Wild River Veterinary Clinic are seeking a Veterinarian to join their team. The practices are committed to providing high-quality medical care for companion animals, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and innovative electronic record-keeping. All staff participate in continuing education programs to ensure the highest level of care. The position offers unique professional development opportunities in a steady-paced, team-focused small animal practice. The role also includes a multi-site opportunity at the sister location, Wild River Veterinary Clinic in Pine City, Minnesota. The practices maintain an ideal doctor-to-tech/assistant ratio with a highly trained technical staff, ensuring doctors have support and can manage their time effectively. The caseload is balanced with medical and surgical cases, suitable for a doctor who prefers a steady agenda. A sign-on bonus of up to $50K is offered to the ideal candidate.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
Experience in small animal practice
Ability to work at both Grantsburg Animal Hospital and Wild River Veterinary Clinic
Proficiency in medical and surgical cases
Willingness to see "pocket pets" or exotics if it is a passion

Responsibilities

Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
Maintain patients’ medical records.
Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.
