About The Position

Cochrane Animal Clinic is seeking a compassionate and motivated Mixed or Small Animal Associate Veterinarian to join their collaborative and growing team in Cochrane, Alberta. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established practice with a supportive culture, experienced mentorship, strong RVT support, and a diverse caseload that allows veterinarians to continue developing their skills and clinical interests. The clinic is located just minutes west of Calgary and at the doorstep of the Rocky Mountains, offering a balance of small-town charm and outdoor adventure. The newly renovated hospital is equipped with digital radiology, ultrasound, a complete in-house laboratory, and a modern surgical suite. They see a wide variety of cases including cats, dogs, rabbits, horses, and farm animals. While there is some mixed animal exposure, the majority of the caseload is small animal, and small animal only candidates are welcome. The team encourages continued learning and professional growth in areas such as surgery, preventative medicine, dentistry, diagnostics, or client education.

Requirements

  • Veterinary degree and eligibility for licensure in Alberta
  • Passion for patient care and veterinary medicine
  • Interest in surgery, preventative care, diagnostics, and client communication
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Positive attitude and collaborative mindset
  • Commitment to continued learning and professional development

  • Experience and interest in surgery would be considered a valuable asset

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality medical care to companion animal and/or mixed animal patients
  • Perform routine surgeries and diagnostic workups
