About The Position

Genoa Animal Hospital is seeking a part-time veterinarian to join their team. This role offers a flexible schedule, a robust caseload, and the support needed to practice high-quality medicine while maintaining work-life balance. The clinic has been serving the Genoa community for over 30 years, combining personal relationships with modern medicine and a collaborative team. The position involves a mix of preventive care, sick-patient appointments, urgent care, dentistry, diagnostics, soft-tissue surgery, and emergency stabilization during business hours. The clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and emphasizes a compassionate, community-focused, and collaborative team culture.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or Veterinary Medical Doctor degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university.
  • Current or eligible veterinary license in the State of Illinois.
  • Current or eligible DEA registration, when applicable.
  • Compassionate, client-centered approach to veterinary medicine.
  • Strong communication and client-education skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining high medical and ethical standards.
  • Ability to manage a varied general-practice caseload.
  • Collaborative teammate.
  • Commitment to continued learning, professional growth, and medical excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, comprehensive veterinary care to pets.
  • Manage a caseload including preventive and wellness care, sick-patient appointments, urgent care, dentistry, diagnostics, soft-tissue surgery, spay and neuter procedures, and emergency stabilization during regular business hours.
  • Utilize state-of-the-art equipment for diagnostics, dentistry, surgery, and laser therapy.
  • Collaborate with a supportive team of approximately three support staff members per veterinarian.
  • Educate clients and help them make informed decisions about their pets' care.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team culture.
  • Engage in continued learning and professional growth.
