About The Position

Elko Veterinary Clinic is looking for an Associate Veterinarian to join the largest and busiest veterinary clinic in Northeastern Nevada. This role offers a high production potential, interesting cases, and opportunities to grow surgical skills, particularly in orthopedics. The clinic is a mixed-animal practice providing general, urgent, and emergency care for companion animals, equine patients, livestock, and exotics. The high caseload allows doctors significant opportunity to build production and increase earnings. The clinic is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with a special interest in doctors wanting to learn orthopedic surgery, offering mentorship for advanced procedures like TPLOs.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
  • Open to experienced veterinarians and new graduates.
  • Willingness to learn and develop orthopedic surgery skills.
  • Ability to work in a mixed-animal practice setting.
  • Ability to handle a busy caseload including general, urgent, and emergency care.

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in orthopedic surgery.
  • Experience with advanced orthopedic procedures (TPLOs, TTAs, interlocking nails, external fixation, toggle pins, plate and screw fracture repair).

Responsibilities

  • Provide general, urgent, and emergency care for companion animals, equine patients, livestock, and exotics.
  • Perform wellness, dentistry, urgent and emergency care, advanced diagnostics, soft tissue surgery, and orthopedic procedures.
  • Utilize advanced surgical skills, with opportunities for mentorship in orthopedic surgery.
  • Collaborate with a team of six veterinarians, technicians, and assistants.
  • Contribute to a high-volume practice with significant production potential.
