Veterinarian, Medical Director
About The Position
The Pet Doctor, an established small-animal practice in Flushing, New York, is seeking an experienced veterinarian to serve as Medical Director. This role is suited to a veterinarian with several years of clinical experience who can practice independently and lead a medical team; it is not suitable for new graduates. The Medical Director will provide medical and surgical care, lead and mentor the veterinary team, establish clinical standards, and collaborate with management on hospital operations and growth. The practice offers a Partner Track opportunity that may provide clinic ownership after one year of successful employment. Compensation is customizable based on experience and may include bonuses, with a stated base salary range of $130,000–$190,000, depending on experience and the compensation package.
Requirements
- DVM or VMD degree, or equivalent, from an accredited veterinary school or university.
- Several years of clinical experience in small-animal medicine; required.
- Strong diagnostic, surgical, and communication skills.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in New York State.
- Active veterinary state license, or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Current DEA license, or ability to obtain upon hire.
- USDA accreditation, or ability to obtain upon hire.
