The primary purpose and function of the Relief Veterinarian is to provide preventative care, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries of Pets. This role involves ensuring the safety of Pets, clients, and associates by utilizing safe restraining techniques, following standard protocols, and maintaining clean treatment areas. The veterinarian will obtain client information, maintain medical records, educate clients on preventative care and treatment plans, and prescribe and administer care. Communication with the veterinary medical team and clients is essential, as is adherence to all local, state, and federal laws, including controlled substance regulations. The role also requires understanding and following state guidelines regarding veterinary assistants and licensed veterinary technicians.
