This role provides flexible online scheduling with no minimum or maximum shift requirements, allowing veterinarians to choose shifts that fit their lifestyle, including a variety of weekday and weekend hours. Relief veterinarians have the freedom to set their own compensation rates for each shift and incur no agency fees. The appointment-based model helps manage patient flow, ensuring timely departures, while trained staff handle operations, allowing the veterinarian to focus on patient care. The company also provides a monthly newsletter for updates and a 15% discount on Petco products and services. Vetco Vaccination Clinics focus on basic wellness checks, vaccinations, heartworm testing, and microchip placement, primarily located within Petco stores or mobile van units. Vetco Total Care hospitals offer a complete range of services, including preventive care, diagnostic workups, outpatient surgeries, and dental procedures, equipped with advanced tools like digital dental X-rays and ultrasound imaging. These hospitals have licensed staff and do not require overnight or emergency on-call shifts.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine state license in good standing
Appropriate state-specific licensing to perform all shift functions including the ability to perform blood draws & administer vaccines
DEA in good standing required for full-service Vetco Total Care hospital relief shifts
Ability to provide Professional Liability Insurance + license defense policy
Compliance with all local state and federal mandates
