About The Position

Westfield Veterinary Group is a multi-location, multi-doctor practice that offers employees a wide array of opportunities to grow in this field, focusing on work-life balance and great care for clients and employees. They are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, and quick-learning individual for full-time or part-time employment as an Outpatient Technician at their Westfield Location, which is under new management. The role values compassion, collaboration, and community. Outpatient technicians are described as "jack of all trade" individuals with diverse skill sets, required to have experience in the field. They assist veterinarians with office visits and associated tasks, communicate with clients using extensive knowledge of vaccine protocols and preventatives, and possess excellent history-taking, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • Experience in the field is required for this position
  • High school or equivalent (Required)
  • Veterinary Technician: 1 year (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate care for pets and their people
  • Be knowledgeable in areas of vaccines, blood tests, fecal and urine collection
  • Complete specialty testing protocols such as ACTH Stim, Biles Acids, LDDST, etc.
  • Administer vaccines and obtain blood samples using a variety of venipuncture techniques
  • Safety and effectively restrain pets for team members
  • Assist in the taking of diagnostic, digital radiographs
  • Dispense medication as ordered and assist in our pharmacy
  • Work with electronic medical record and document professionally
  • Wash and sanitize cages and other equipment
  • Assist at the front desk as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
