Gaston Veterinary Hospital is a fast-paced, walk-in clinic where no two days are the same. With a new doctor joining the team, we’re looking to add a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician who thrives in a busy environment, enjoys teamwork, and is ready to jump in and make an impact. Requirements
- Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician with hands-on clinical experience
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-facing environment
- Positive, dependable, and team-oriented
- Strong patient handling and restraint skills
- Ability to stay organized and multitask efficiently
- Strong communication and client service skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience with anesthesia, radiographs, or lab work preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and procedures
- Support surgical and dental procedures, including anesthesia monitoring (based on experience)
- Take radiographs, including dental radiographs when applicable
- Perform phlebotomy, place IV catheters (technician level), and prepare lab samples
- Restrain patients safely and assist with patient handling
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients
- Maintain accurate medical records and treatment notes
- Help keep workflow efficient in a busy walk-in environment
- Collaborate with team members to support daily hospital operations
