About The Position

The Wild Animal Refuge is seeking a Vet Tech/Animal Care professional to join their team. This organization is dedicated to providing a safe haven for rescued animals, allowing them to live out their lives with dignity and respect. They are committed to service, community betterment, and educating the public about the plight of captive-born and bred animals. Requirements

Must have a valid Driver’s License.
Able to lift 75lbs or more.
Able to stand for long periods of time.

Nice To Haves

Vet Technician Certifications (Or, near completion: Veterinarian Technician License).
Large Carnivore Experience preferred but not required.
Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
Career Course Materials Obtained.

Responsibilities

Perform routine vet tech procedures on animals, including medication administration.
Maintain clear and accurate records.
Stay on task and work energetically for the entire shift, sometimes exceeding 9 hours per day.
Care for and maintain all medical equipment and other tools essential to daily operations.
Provide animal care with ranch hand work, ensuring animals are fed with proper diet and restrictions.
Document any changes in an animal's condition and vital signs appropriately in medical records.
Notify of any unusual medical or behavioral problems.
Practice communication skills to ensure the overall safety of the Organization.
Perform other duties as assigned.
