About The Position

We are looking for a person willing and wanting to learn vet tech skills within a Rescue Medicine setting. Your main duty will be drawing blood for heartworm screening and working closely with our med team on individual cases. You will coordinate treatment schedules, track medication administration, and communicate with fosters and medical staff to ensure each dog receives the necessary care. This position requires attention to detail, a willingness to learn basic veterinary care, and clear communication skills. The role is mostly remote but has on-location veterinary duties, requiring five hours per week, with flexible hours. A proactive volunteer can also learn additional veterinary skills such as triage, wound care, preventative medicine and laboratory skills if desired.
