About The Position
Carolina Ranch Animal Hospital is seeking a skilled Veterinary Assistant committed to providing exceptional patient care and outstanding client service. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting veterinarians and technicians with patient treatments, procedures, and daily hospital operations. Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience working as a Veterinary Assistant
- Familiarity with preventive healthcare protocols, including vaccines and parasite prevention
- Experience performing venipuncture and catheter placement
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment and diagnostic procedures
- Comfortable assisting with anesthesia and patient monitoring
- Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational abilities
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Responsibilities
- Assist medical staff with examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Gather patient histories and prepare pets for appointments
- Educate clients on preventive healthcare recommendations
- Assist with anesthesia preparation and patient monitoring
- Perform blood collection, catheter placement, and diagnostic testing
- Safely handle and restrain patients during procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout treatment areas
- Support overall hospital efficiency and patient care standards
