About The Position
PACCAR Powertrain is seeking a motivated and experienced Verification Engineering Project Coordinator. This role is based at the PACCAR Technical Center in Mount Vernon, WA. PACCAR is a Fortune 500 company established in 1905. PACCAR is a global technology leader in the design, manufacture and customer support of high-quality light-, medium- and heavy-duty trucks under the Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF nameplates. PACCAR also designs and manufactures advanced powertrains, provides financial services and information technology, and distributes truck parts related to its principal business. PACCAR Powertrain is the newest business unit within PACCAR, dedicated to delivering advanced powertrain solutions for Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF trucks. This includes the development of sophisticated heavy-duty engine technologies, along with essential support functions such as testing, validation, and aftersales service. The Verification Engineering Project Coordinator serves as the technical focal point for engine and aftertreatment verification activities. This role coordinates software releases, verification planning, resource allocation, and defect tracking to support program milestones and product quality. The successful candidate will bring strong engineering knowledge, project management skills, and the ability to effectively coordinate and align cross-functional and global stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related technical field.
- 7+ years of experience in automotive, commercial vehicle, powertrain, or related engineering fields.
- Strong understanding of product development processes and engineering project execution.
- Experience managing schedules, resources, dependencies, and project risks.
- Experience coordinating technical projects and using Microsoft Office, project management and reporting tools.
- Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
- Knowledge of diesel engine calibration, aftertreatment systems, emissions regulations, OBD requirements, and engine control systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead planning and coordination of engine and aftertreatment verification activities across multiple projects.
- Coordinate aftersales engine software and hardware releases to support verification and validation.
- Manage verification schedules, test priorities, resource allocation, and vehicle and test cell availability.
- Coordinate defect triage and issue resolution with PACCAR's global engine teams.
- Ensure high-quality defect reporting and communication across verification and validation organizations.
- Facilitate technical reviews, project meetings, and readiness assessments while tracking key technical actions and deliverables.
- Coordinate supplier testing activities, software releases, issue reporting, and corrective actions.
- Develop and improve verification processes, tools, documentation, and reporting methods.
- Build effective partnerships across PACCAR divisions, suppliers, and engineering organizations to support successful product development and launch.
