The Venue Technical Director & Digital Marketing Coordinator is a 50/50 split role, serving as the primary technical production contact for Loos Center for the Arts - a 1,016-seat performing arts center located on the campus of The Woodstock Academy in Woodstock, Connecticut - and also as the day-to-day manager of The Woodstock Academy's social media presence and visual storytelling. Loos Center operates a fully networked digital venue; nearly all technical systems - lighting, audio, intercom, show control, and communications - are IP or protocol-based. This role oversees all production technical operations for approximately 25 public-facing concerts and performances per year, as well as additional internal events, meetings, and facility rentals, serving as the primary lighting designer, programmer, and console operator for all productions, maintaining all technical systems, and advancing shows with touring artists and management. In addition, this role manages the school's social media accounts and content strategy, serves as the school's day-to-day photographer, and supports operational functions as a trusted partner to the Executive Director of Loos Center for the Arts. The successful candidate will: Be a technically skilled, safety-conscious professional with strong hands-on experience in theatrical lighting design and programming, working knowledge of professional live sound systems and rigging, and the organizational ability to advance shows, maintain systems, and support a small but high-caliber performing arts organization - while also being a capable photographer, videographer, and social media content creator. The ideal candidate is resourceful, dependable, and comfortable working both independently and alongside touring production crews at a professional level, as well as creating content that represents the school's programs and events to a public audience.
