About The Position

This investing apprenticeship role will expose the Analyst to every aspect of venture capital. While shadowing and supporting partners at G2, the Analyst will meet brilliant entrepreneurs pitching climate tech startups, evaluate exciting technologies, participate in Investment Committee discussions, prepare for and work on follow-ups to portfolio company Board meetings, help portfolio companies improve their economic engines, and communicate with the institutions/people who invested in G2’s funds. If you want to learn about venture capital and growth investing in sustainability technology companies, there is no better job. You will get to see everything.

Requirements

• Prior professional experience or coursework requiring critical analysis of business models and financial projections.
• Established record as a curious “self-starter”
• Strong organizational skills, excellent analytical reasoning, and an ability to present complex ideas and information in simple persuasive form, both written and oral
• Genuine passion for investing and the entrepreneurial process
• Shown interest in sustainability
• Desire to be a connector / develop a robust network, and work in a collaborative trust-based team environment
• Professional and personal maturity that demonstrates unquestionable integrity and sound business instincts

Nice To Haves

• Investing, banking, or consulting internship experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Meet brilliant entrepreneurs as they pitch climate tech startups that plan to change the world
• Evaluate exciting technologies and develop viewpoints on how they will transform traditional industries to be more sustainable
• Participate in (and vote in) Investment Committee discussions
• Prepare for (and work on follow-ups to) portfolio company Board meetings to assist G2 Partners in their roles as Board Directors advising firms on their most important considerations (strategy, organization, financings, M&A, etc)
• Help portfolio companies improve the economic engines that drive their businesses
• Communicate with the institutions / people who invested in G2’s funds
