About The Position

Venous Ultrasound Sonographer - Wound Care (Part-Time) at Johnson Memorial Health. This role involves performing ultrasound procedures, providing patient care, managing daily assignments, completing documentation, participating in charge capture, maintaining the work area, operating equipment, participating in education and self-development, suggesting improvements, working collaboratively, providing quality service, demonstrating flexibility, practicing radiation safety, and using information systems. The position also requires adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, standards, and JMH policies and procedures, including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.

Requirements

  • Two years post-high school education training at an AMA approved School of Radiology, with current registry with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and current Indiana license; OR must have RDMS certification; OR be RDMS board eligible with certification to be obtained within 2 years.
  • BLS or CPR for Healthcare Providers certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in performing vascular ultrasound preferred.
  • Experience with radio frequency ablation highly preferred.
  • RVS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates ability and appropriate technical skills when administering ultrasound procedures including but not limited to radio frequency ablation and venous Doppler procedures as associated with department policies and procedures and/or as needed by physician.
  • Compassionately gives patient care to provide comfort and well-being to the patient acknowledging physiological and psychological needs through policy and procedures governing department.
  • Prioritizes and performs duties to complete daily assignments in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Completes documentation thoroughly, legibly and accurately according to department guidelines and in a timely manner.
  • Actively participates in charge capture/cost containment activities according to specialty area expectations.
  • Ensures that designated work area is clean and stocked with supplies on an ongoing basis.
  • Operates equipment correctly and reports any needed repairs.
  • Participates in orientation, education and self-development, which may include student training.
  • Searches for better ways of doing things by recommending and/or initiating suggestions for improvement of departmental operations and/or services provided.
  • Works well with others and supports team efforts.
  • Provides quality service to all customers, both internal and external.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and responsibility in accepting work assignments.
  • Responds positively to changing circumstances.
  • Practices radiation safety in accordance to ALARA principles for protection.
  • Shows proficiency in use of JMH and Radiology Information system pertaining to job specific functions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
