About The Position

Timber Products Company is looking for a strong leader to direct the day-to-day operations of Medford Plywood’s veneer facility. This role involves overall management and scheduling of shifts and employees, monitoring the production and quality of veneer, supporting veneer sales, and ensuring resources are utilized to the highest levels of efficiency. The position ensures a safe and efficient work environment by communicating and managing to established safety, quality, and production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures a safe work environment is maintained and that the company safety program and safety standards are being met.
  • Oversees daily and weekly output targets for the veneer skins operations.
  • Coordinates veneer and substrate supply with purchasing, planning, and veneer and plywood manufacturing operations to ensure sales commitments are met.
  • Ensures finished skins meet grade, color and grain match, thickness tolerance, flatness, moisture content, and bond/adhesion requirements.
  • Supervises, coaches, and develops shift supervisors and hourly crews; sets expectations and holds the team accountable.
  • Works with the maintenance department to plan preventive maintenance around production needs and minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Ensures that veneer operations’ appearance is maintained to the highest level possible and reflects pride of ownership.
  • Completes administrative paperwork and reporting related to production reports, scheduling, quality control, and safety.
  • Responsible for supporting and enforcing company policies and procedures.
