About The Position

Carvana is seeking a Vendor Manager to join its Inventory Procurement team. This role will be responsible for acquiring the goods and services necessary for the vehicle reconditioning operations, including software, equipment, parts, and labor. The Vendor Manager will oversee all vendor engagements end-to-end for an assigned group of suppliers, encompassing sourcing, contracting, performance management, and stakeholder alignment. This position serves as a crucial link between operations teams and their supporting vendors. Vendor group assignments may change based on business needs. The role requires up to 25% travel and is a fully on-site position, Monday through Friday, at the corporate headquarters in Tempe, Arizona.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience within a finance/procurement organization at mid to large-sized companies with high transaction volumes.
• At least 2 years of experience in Procurement: Sourcing, and/or Procure-to-Pay.
• Experience with Coupa, leading ERP systems, and/or dedicated e-procurement platforms.
• Ability to communicate professionally verbally and in writing with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to organize workload efficiently to manage multiple initiatives and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in SQL, MS Excel, and ERP systems.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Owning the vendor lifecycle for an assigned supplier group from onboarding through contract compliance, performance reviews, and renewals.
• Designing and conducting sourcing events (RFI/RFP/RFQ).
• Leading negotiations for new contracts and renewals concerning pricing, terms, and service levels.
• Executing the contract lifecycle (MSAs, NDAs, SOWs, SLAs) in partnership with Legal.
• Running a vendor performance management program using scorecards, business reviews, and SLA tracking to ensure accountability.
• Driving conversations to address performance issues early and facilitating resolution with affected stakeholders.
• Keeping teams proactively aligned on deliverables, expectations, and changes to ensure requesters, operations, and leadership are informed and confident in outcomes.
• Analyzing vendor performance and spend data to identify root causes and quantify savings and value delivered.
• Partnering with FP&A to ensure budgets accurately reflect vendor group costs.
• Continuously improving processes such as maintaining pricing in Carvana systems, automating invoicing and payment processes, and standardizing recurring vendor management processes for efficiency.
• Contributing to a team environment that promotes positive communication, cohesion, and adherence to Carvana's Values.
