About The Position

We are looking for a VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) Buyer for JBS ROLE that will be based in our Mason, Ohio location. This role is responsible for maintaining the supply chain for the company and managing the operational execution of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) strategies. Manages deliverables, resolves delivery and supply issues, and communications between suppliers and the company.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent certification
  • Must have inventory control experience with a focus in VMI
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good math skills
  • Must be well-organized with good attention to detail
  • Display strong work ethics and positive attitude
  • Adaptable and dependable with ability to follow direction and work cooperation with others
  • Must maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance
  • Ability to apply logic and understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved, instructions and to deal with problems involving a few different variables.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using ERP systems (SAP, OLP, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience with forecasting, replenishment planning, and inventory analysis preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the execution of VMI strategies.
  • Responds to inquiries from a variety of internal and external parties to provide information and/or provide directions.
  • Monitors customer satisfaction of goods and services received.
  • Manage assigned inventory items by maintaining accurate records and creating purchase orders to support inventory levels agreed upon with the customer.
  • Ability to manage supply in an ever-changing environment, to include expediting, de-expediting and cancelling of purchase orders as needed.
  • Maintains a variety of manual and electronic records of VMI transactions.
  • Reconciles purchase orders and invoices.
  • Manage supply of materials to achieve inventory goals. Ability to negotiate stocking programs (VMI, Kanban, JIT) to reduce both lead time and inventory
  • Manage the supply chain to ensure quality and delivery of materials on time to meet production schedules.
  • Interface with planning, sales, service, engineering, production, finance and other departments as required to achieve customer satisfaction
  • May assume other duties as assigned.
