Vendor Managed Inventory Coordinator
About The Position
The Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Coordinator supports inventory management and material distribution activities at customer-designated locations in Dubuque, Iowa. The role is responsible for delivering, setting up, organizing, and replenishing inventory at customer sites. The position combines physical and administrative warehouse work, including inventory counting, issuing parts, order fulfillment, shipment verification, barcode scanning, and maintaining accurate inventory levels. The coordinator manages customer orders as they move from Vallen's warehouse or distribution center through delivery and placement at the customer site. Strong attendance, independence, attention to detail, basic computer skills, and professional customer service are important.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of relevant warehouse, inventory counting, or delivery experience.
- Previous inventory management experience.
- Experience with inventory-related activities such as cycle counting and issuing parts.
- Ability to understand and follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks accurately and within established timelines.
- Basic computer knowledge and willingness to learn internal inventory systems.
- Strong attendance and reliability.
- Ability to work independently while following established procedures and supervision.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with customers, coworkers, and management.
- Willingness to learn about company products and materials.
- Professional attitude and customer-service orientation.
- Ability and willingness to operate a sit-down forklift and golf cart as required.
- Safe handling and transportation of company products and materials.
Nice To Haves

- Cycle counting and inventory reconciliation experience.
- Inventory replenishment and stock monitoring experience.
- Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) experience.
- Warehouse receiving, stocking, and distribution experience.
- Understanding of minimum and maximum inventory levels and reorder points.
- Familiarity with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
- Experience handling industrial supplies, maintenance materials, or equipment.
- Microsoft Office Suite experience.
- Inventory data entry and barcode scanning experience.
- Sit-down forklift experience.
Responsibilities

- Transport company cargo to local customer locations.
- Operate a sit-down forklift and golf cart as required.
