About The Position

Join Vallen’s team as a Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI) Coordinator I. The coordinator delivers and manages inventory at customers’ designated sites and performs physical or administrative tasks involved in storing, distributing, and fulfilling orders for merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. The role follows customer orders from Vallen’s warehouse or distribution center through delivery and setup at the customer site, while maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting customer service.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 1 year of experience or training in warehouse work, inventory counting, or delivery.
Valid driver’s license that complies with Vallen’s standards.
Willingness to learn and work on semi-routine assignments.
Self-starter who is willing to work with supervision.
Ability to understand and carry out written, oral, or diagram-form instructions.
Ability to complete work correctly and in a timely manner.
Proactive and positive team approach to problem resolution.
Ability to establish strong working relationships with customers, coworkers, and management.
Willingness to gain knowledge of company products.
Ability to represent Vallen professionally and project a customer-service-oriented team approach.
Ability to properly operate and control a motor vehicle; required vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to handle physical inventory requiring hand dexterity and lift and carry up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

Drive company commercial vehicles to transport and deliver goods safely and in compliance with State and Federal DOT standards and regulations.
Help ensure shipment accuracy for customers.
Assist with customer VMI space and placement, prepare areas to receive shipments, and stock products in designated locations.
Follow customer orders from pickup at Vallen’s warehouse or distribution center through delivery and setup at the customer site.
Take customer spot-buy orders when needed and relay information to the customer service representative or account representative.
Scan barcodes at customer sites to generate customer orders.
Perform VMI tasks at vending point-of-use areas, including loading, receiving, and minor repairs or changes, while communicating with the direct supervisor and sales team.
Monitor minimum/maximum levels and reorder points and quantities, and report observations to management.
Recommend customer inventory-level changes based on usage.
Keep barcode labels current and legible, and advise management when replacement labels are needed.
Assist with annual inventory or cycle counts on consigned inventory.
Present information and respond to questions from clients, customers, and managers.
Maintain 5S standards in all VMI point-of-use areas.
Perform other duties as requested.
