About The Position

Amazon is looking for a talented Vendor Manager (VM) responsible for managing vendor relationships and setting the strategic direction for their business on the Worldwide Grocery Category team. The ideal candidate possesses experience in buying, marketing and/or finance; with a track record of successful relationship management, strong analytical acumen, experience generating and managing reporting and analysis. Great communication skills and understanding of Excel will be essential to your success. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who will take ownership of projects and business problems to a successful result. Our environment is fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous; this requires someone who is flexible, detail-oriented, analytical and comfortable working with multiple teams, vendors, partners and management.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience using Excel and other business analytic tools

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with software and editing tools (including HTML, Excel and SQL)
  • Experience in online retail
  • Experience using analytical specific tools such as Google Analytics, SQL or HTML

Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic negotiations with vendors and represent Amazon when meeting with vendor partners and their leadership
  • Develop long-term strategies and significantly influences cross-category plans - delivering on Amazon's goals and objectives while obsessing over Customers
  • Work cross functionally, both within Amazon and your assigned vendors
  • Implement scalable, simple and automated solutions to address Customer pain points and drive results
  • Create opportunities for growth, customer acquisition and brand-building
  • Audit metrics regularly, determine and prioritize business opportunities, identify risks and make recommendations to deliver results
  • Identify industry trends and develop innovative marketing and merchandising initiatives to support growth
