Performs a variety of routine, as well as non-routine, duties related to the Clerk & Recorder's Office. This position works under the direction of the Clerk & Recorder Supervisor-Vehicle Registration and has no supervisory responsibilities. The role requires maintaining the highest level of confidentiality, generating professional legal correspondence, and operating computers while maintaining multiple databases. It involves close collaboration with other agencies at the City, County, or State levels, including the Department of Revenue. The technician is responsible for verifying transaction accuracy, reconciling reports, and maintaining current knowledge of laws and procedures regarding vehicle registration and titling. Continuous training and professional interaction with staff and the public are essential. The role also involves operating various office equipment, maintaining regular attendance, answering public inquiries professionally, and being a team player. Travel for training, managing a cash drawer, reviewing vehicle registration documents for accuracy, preparing account analyses, entering data accurately, and performing title and registration transactions with minimal supervision are key duties. Verifying documentation and signatures, navigating various websites, and demonstrating self-motivation to improve skills are also required. The position may involve other duties as required in the Office of the County Clerk and Recorder.
