About The Position

The incumbent will be responsible for taking digital photographs of vehicles and uploading the images to the company website to support online sales. Conducts staging and sets up/operates digital cameras and related image processing equipment to produce quality images of vehicles to be auctioned for reproduction in vehicle condition reports. Ensures that photographs are produced consistent with applicable imaging procedures and quality standards. Work may be performed in an outdoor, production environment or indoors, depending on location and work to be completed.

Requirements

  • Solid knowledge of and comfort with operation of digital cameras (Ricoh or Samsung Galaxy preferred), including knowledge of camera focus, field depth, etc.
  • Knowledge of and experience with arranging lighting to produce quality photographs
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, photography software, internet savvy).
  • Good technical/equipment troubleshooting skills
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Creativity with good eye for photography
  • Visualization – ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when it’s parts are moved or rearranged
  • Visual Color Discrimination – the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness
  • Arm-Hand Steadiness – the ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a production environment

  • High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • Generally, less than 2 years’ experience in a related field
  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.
  • Medium strength: ability to lift 1-30 pounds (light hand tools, etc.).
  • Manual dexterity, repetitive motion tasks.
  • Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.
  • Occasional exposure to outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts, electrical shock hazard and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Must clear a pre-employment drug test.
  • Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship. No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT or visa sponsorship now or in future.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in detail shop or buffing experience helpful.
  • 1-2 years of digital photography experience preferred.
  • A portfolio may be requested as part of the selection process.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and maintains auction site image booth and/or standard imaging area in accordance with standards
  • Sets up lighting and operates camera and ancillary equipment in ways that capture vehicle interior and exterior images and meet requirements relative to focus, clarity, aspect/angles, storage and related quality.
  • Transfer completed images into vehicle condition report format.
  • May adjust and enhance digital images to meet or exceed quality standards.
  • Ensures that cameras and other imaging equipment is properly maintained and stored.
  • Takes digital photographs of vehicles for condition reports and uploads to company website.
  • Ensures that all standard required photos are taken and uploaded.
  • Performs self-audits to ensure that images meet required quality standards.
  • Sets-up, troubleshoots, and resolved technical/equipment issues.
  • Maintains current awareness of imaging trends and technology advancements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
