Vehicle Performance Validation Engineer

About The Position

Responsible for voice of the customer development, setting technical objectives, development / validation testing for an assigned vehicle project. Lead a functional area (Body, Interior, or Electrical) Responsible for the development and execution for that functional area on a specific vehicle project. Establish Vehicle Functional Objectives and Validation Plans (Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R). Support new feature integration Participate in tech clubs to ensure consistent execution across other vehicle lines. Lead the issue resolution process as required by pulling together cross functional engineering teams to identify the root cause and establish corrective action plans. Lead / support ride and drive events, overnight evaluations, validation trips and pilot build activities Responsible for testing and validating driving scenarios across various vehicle benches, including ICE and BEV platforms. This includes analyzing test data to ensure performance and accuracy, coordinating with the Canada team on scenario development and models, and ensuring the use of the latest software versions across different benches and vehicle programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • Automotive product development experience
  • Experience working with automotive components / systems / vehicles
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc)
  • Strong communication skills with all levels with the ability to simplify technical issues into meaningful conclusions and recommendations
  • Ability to work in a team, build good working relationships and gain consensus
  • Self-motivated, able to multi-task and prioritize workload
  • Valid driver's License
  • Understanding of Autonomous Driving and Electrified Propulsion Systems
  • Experience releasing components
  • Understanding of engineering issue resolution process (root cause, containment, corrective action)
  • DFSS Green / Black Belt Certification
  • Understanding of automotive development and validation process
  • Experience with Manufacturing Assembly and quality
  • Strong understand of the entire vehicle and systems engineering
  • High level of proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing)

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge on ADAS (Hands free, L2+ is advantage)
  • Analyzing CAN logs (using canalyzer or Canoe)
  • HiL validation skills, understanding ECU's
  • Knowledge in updating software on bench and Vehicle
  • Understanding OBD
  • DSpace tools
  • Running Python automation script (For loop testing) - good to have
