About The Position

Vehicle Operators drive seniors and passengers with disabilities to their program, operate a free fixed-route shuttle to farmers’ markets and hospitals, deliver food bank boxes to people in need, and transport passengers home. The role requires securing wheelchairs to the bus and handling food boxes weighing up to 28 pounds. Applicants must provide original proof of the specified identity and work-eligibility documents after receiving a job offer; copies are not accepted. The schedule requires open availability Monday through Friday between 5:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., with 8–11-hour shifts, five days per week. Employees are guaranteed at least 40 hours per week. Overtime is paid after eight hours and double time after ten hours. There are no late nights, weekends, or holidays.

Requirements

Valid California driver license.
Clean driving record with no more than two points.
At least 21 years old for insurability.
Pass a pre-employment drug test, including marijuana testing, a post-offer physical, and a background check.
Be reliable and have excellent communication skills.
Provide original proof of identity and work eligibility from the listed documents; copies are not accepted.
Join the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU).
Have open availability Monday through Friday between 5:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
