The position is critical in assisting the Susquehanna Regional Transportation Authority in meeting our mission of mobility. The impact of public transportation runs much deeper than a trip from point A to point B. We are the means for which people have access to experiences that alter their lives in meaningful ways. This position is responsible for performing general servicing, preventative maintenance, diagnosing and troubleshooting, evaluating cost of equipment repair, and performing minor repairs to maintain all fleet vehicles in good working order. Ensures SRTA is in compliance with state and federal regulations. Receives complaints and requests for equipment service and makes evaluations; makes road calls to service disabled vehicles; and coordinates and prioritizes Authority work as directed by management. Maintains a safe and organized environment; completes all necessary computerized record-keeping and report preparation. The mechanic is responsible for meeting all attendance requirements according to policy and safety emergency response situations. SRTA is the County Emergency responder. Facilities maintenance both outside and inside and seasonal duties as required. Performs other duties as assigned.
