About The Position

Our brands and their technologies make it easy for a vehicle to move between buyers and sellers throughout its entire ownership lifecycle. The primary responsibility of a Vehicle Inspector is to conduct a comprehensive inspection of vehicles and generate a Condition Report (CR) that accurately reflects the vehicle’s condition.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in the automotive industry is required.
  • Problem solving aptitude to meet challenges with resourcefulness and innovative approaches.
  • Proven success to work independently with minimal supervision while working in a team environment.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license and generally clean driving record.
  • Able to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
  • Must be detail-oriented, able to provide exceptional customer service, and be dependable.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of web-based applications and automotive inspection tools preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct meticulous vehicle inspections to identify, assess, and document the vehicle’s condition to include structural damage, frame condition, previous and substandard paintwork, alignment of vehicle body panels, missing parts, mechanical problems, etc.
  • Produce highly accurate condition reports by taking detailed notes with accompanying photographs to ensure a comprehensive assessment of the vehicle.
  • May assist with getting vehicles operational to include inflating tires, filling fuel tanks, and jump-starting vehicles. Notifies supervisor if a vehicle is inoperative.
  • May be required to locate, start, and move vehicles, if directed, in accordance with auction protocol.
  • Utilize training and industry best practices while also adhering to management-provided work instructions and/or procedures regarding inspections and associated documentation.
  • Consistently provide the highest level of customer service.
  • Ensure continuous safety commitment by following all safety procedures and actively participate in all safety activities.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and promote teamwork.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
