The primary responsibility of a Vehicle Inspector is to conduct a comprehensive inspection of assigned vehicles and generate a Condition Report (CR) that accurately reflects the vehicle’s condition. Assigned vehicles are typically located at dealerships but may occasionally be done at one of our facilities. This position requires a willingness to travel to perform responsibilities, a keen attention to detail as well as the ability to build strong relationships with customers. May perform other job-related activities as needed to support the business.

Requirements

  • French (required), English (an asset)
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age, have reliable transportation to travel to and from assignments, and possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Problem solving aptitude to meet challenges with resourcefulness and innovative approaches.
  • Proven success to work independently with minimal supervision while working in a team environment.
  • Able to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
  • Must be detail-oriented, ability to provide exceptional customer service and be dependable.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years’ experience in the automotive industry preferred.
  • Working knowledge of web-based applications and automotive inspection tools preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct vehicle inspections at a variety of locations including dealerships, physical auctions, and off-site locations.
  • Identify, assess, and document structural damage, frame condition, previous and substandard paintwork, alignment of vehicle body panels, detect missing parts and mechanical problems, etc.
  • Utilize training and industry best practices while also adhering to management-provided work instructions and/or procedures regarding inspections and associated documentation.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers through regular interaction to ensure we meet/exceed their expectations.
  • Ensure a high level of accuracy to minimize arbitrations.
  • Follow all applicable safety and health related procedures.
  • May be required to locate, start, and move vehicles, if directed.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
