About The Position

This is a temporary position with the Office of State Human Resources Division Temporary Solutions. The agency aims to provide a solid Human Resource management foundation, responsible oversight, and creative solutions through a collaborative approach with all stakeholders to maximize the potential of its employees. This temporary position is located at 1915 Blue Ridge Rd., Raleigh -- Wake County, with the Department of Administration. Temporary employees are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time and must be fully qualified for the job. OSHR supports the Governor's Job Ready initiative and seeks to expand a temporary skill set to enhance their qualifications for State government and private sector jobs. Exposure to an agency's culture, process, procedures, and potential learning opportunities can provide valuable experience to those who may seek permanent employment with the state.

Requirements

• High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two (2) years of experience in the area of assignment, or a sufficient year-for-year combination of education and experience in the repair work to which assigned; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• May require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by 40 CFR part 82, subpart F.

Responsibilities

• Repairing, maintaining, replacing, and rebuilding mechanical and electrical automobile components in accordance with established automotive repair and maintenance practices.
• Performing minor and major engine repair or replacement, differential repairs, repairing of electrical components, air conditioning systems, steering and brake systems, as well as automotive computer diagnostics and repair.
• Performing other mechanical tasks such as changing oil, replacing tires, changing and/or replacing batteries as well as engine tune-ups.
• Documenting repairs to vehicles and cleaning work areas.
• Performing other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
