About The Position

Porters will be primarily responsible for pulling vehicles in and out of a canopy structure. Porters are expected to assist customers and coworkers alike while following our company's safety policies. Pennsylvania state traffic laws are rules for the road for this job . Work schedule Monday- Friday 7am-3:30pm Pay Rate: $15.27

Requirements

  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required
  • Constantly required to enter and exit vehicles.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to walk long distances.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear.
  • Stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, squatting, and climbing are frequently required.
  • Ability to lift 1-15 pounds.
  • Vision abilities required include close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Drug Testing To be employed in this role, you’ll need to clear a pre-employment drug test. Cox Automotive does not currently administer a pre-employment drug test for marijuana for this position. However, we are a drug-free workplace, so the possession, use or being under the influence of drugs illegal under federal or state law during work hours, on company property and/or in company vehicles is prohibited.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous auction experience preferred.
  • Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmissions.

Responsibilities

  • Transportation of Vehicles: Move cars around the lot to ensure efficient use of space and organized access to vehicles as needed.
  • Car Distribution: Distribute cars evenly to correct detail bays, maximizing workflow and productivity.
  • Shop Maintenance: Uphold a clean and orderly environment within the shop, contributing to a safe and efficient workspace for all.
  • Line up and park vehicles in the correct order as directed by the supervisor or team leader, move vehicles as necessary, and locate "lost" vehicles.
  • Assist with getting vehicles operating as needed.
  • Inflate tires and jump-start vehicles using a battery box and air tank if necessary.
  • Notify the supervisor when a vehicle is inoperative; notify the Service or Gas Truck Driver when the vehicle is out of gas.
  • Assist customers (i.e., dealers, account representatives, rental agencies, etc.) and coworkers as needed.
  • Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such.
  • Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate.
