Exponent’s Vehicle Engineering consultants investigate real-world transportation incidents, evaluate complete vehicles and individual components, and conduct research and testing involving conventional, electric, autonomous, and other emerging mobility technologies. Our work may address crashworthiness, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), operator controls, electrical and battery systems, engines and transmissions, fuel systems, braking, steering, regulatory standards, and fitness for use.

Requirements

Master’s students, Ph.D. candidates, and postdoctoral researchers in automotive engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, and related fields.
Experience translating classroom and research knowledge into hands-on teamwork through collegiate vehicle programs such as the Indy Autonomous Challenge, driverless teams, EcoCAR, SAE Baja, Formula SAE, or Supermileage.
Experience with vehicle systems, controls, robotics, experimentation, simulation, data analysis, testing, design, or failure investigation.

Responsibilities

Investigate real-world transportation incidents.
Evaluate complete vehicles and individual components.
Conduct research and testing involving conventional, electric, autonomous, and other emerging mobility technologies.
