About The Position

The Vehicle Delivery Technician plays a key role in fleet readiness by performing vehicle inspections, in fleet servicing, documentation, and vehicle movements. This role ensures vehicles meet operational, safety, and presentation standards and are communicated as ready for use. The position requires attention to detail, routine decision making, and the ability to work independently outdoors to support efficient fleet operations and service continuity.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years old
  • The ability to operate a motor vehicle is an essential function of this position.
  • Applicants must have a valid, unrestricted U.S. driver's license.
  • Basic mechanical or vehicle‑related experience sufficient to perform inspections, light maintenance, and in‑fleet servicing tasks
  • Must meet all the qualifications and duties of Certified Motor Vehicle Inspectors and have a valid NYS Inspectors Certificate
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
  • Ability to operate an automobile and shop equipment in a safe manner
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to understand, read, and write English
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working independently or in a team

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to handle moderate physical activity (light lifting up to 25 lbs.) as well as moderate exposure to unusual elements (rain, snow, dirt/dust)
  • Must be living within a reasonable commute of no more than 1 hour to the location(s) you are applying to within 30 days of anticipated start date.
  • Inspect incoming new and used vehicles for condition, damage, and completeness, to ensure accurate documentation and readiness for fleet processing
  • Remove transportation protective coverings from vehicle interiors and exteriors and install basic vehicle accessories not installed at the factory to ensure vehicles meet fleet presentation and service standards
  • Update the Vehicle Logistics leadership on in-fleet arrivals, processing status, and completed unit readiness to ensure visibility into fleet availability
  • Perform in‑fleet servicing on new vehicles using required company and manufacture-required procedures and checklists, ensuring each unit is reviewed for open recalls or special service bulletins to support safe, timely operational use
  • Perform light vehicle maintenance, when qualified and directed, to support baseline vehicle functionality and availability
  • Support vehicle identification and tracking by attaching license plates, registration, insurance documentation, keys and unit identifiers to ensure regulatory compliance, traceability, and asset accountability
  • Move vehicles and assist with directing vehicle traffic across lots, service areas, remarketing locations, and staging areas to support safe, secure, orderly operation and fleet readiness
  • Clean vehicles through washing and vacuuming when required to ensure established fleet appearance standards are met
  • Seek to improve job performance through self-assessment, skill development, training and goal setting
  • Maintain a regular and reliable level of attendance and punctuality
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
