About The Position

As a Vehicle Delivery Driver at CarMax, you will be instrumental in providing an exceptional car-buying experience by delivering vehicles directly to customers' homes. You will manage the entire process from loading and unloading vehicles using a company-owned truck to finalizing paperwork and handing over the keys. This role requires professionalism, strong communication, and a commitment to safety, representing CarMax with pride.

Requirements

21 years of age or older with a valid state-issued driver’s license.
Class B CDL preferred; additional state-specific endorsements may apply (e.g., Illinois Class C, Indiana “For Hire,” Louisiana Chauffeur’s License, Mississippi Class D Commercial).
Clean driving record with no more than 6 penalty points in the last three years.
1+ year of customer service experience.
1+ year of delivery driving experience or CarMax experience.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to operate a manual transmission.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Must possess or obtain a DOT Medical Card within 28 days of hire.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Adherence to CarMax policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Operate a two-car hauler to deliver vehicles safely and efficiently.
Load, transport, and unload vehicles at designated locations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
Facilitate home delivery transactions, including paperwork and customer handoff.
Provide outstanding customer service, interacting with customers and team members professionally.
Perform condition checks and verify vehicles meet CarMax cosmetic standards before delivery.
Conduct daily equipment inspections to maintain safety and operational excellence.
Maintain accurate logs and documentation in compliance with company requirements.
