About The Position

This role involves accurately inputting vehicle information into the AS400 system using a handheld device for each vehicle received at the Auction. Responsibilities include recording VIN, stock number, dealer identification number, make, model, year, mileage, and options. The specialist will also affix barcode/stock number stickers, place work order numbers and routing labels, associate and install OBDII tracking devices, and direct transporters to the correct drop zones. A strong commitment to safety procedures and participation in safety activities is expected. Additional duties may include assisting with driving vehicles through auction sales lanes on sale days.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Generally less than 2 years’ experience in a related field
  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.
  • Ability to lift 1-15 pounds.
  • Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must currently be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.
  • Must clear a pre-employment drug test (marijuana testing may not be administered for this position, but it is a drug-free workplace).

Nice To Haves

  • 1–3 years of auction or vehicle registration experience
  • Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles

Responsibilities

  • Input accurate vehicle information into the AS400 system using a handheld device (TC-75), including: Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), Stock number, Dealer identification number, Make, model, year, mileage, color, options, etc.
  • Affix barcode/stock number sticker on each vehicle received.
  • Place work order numbers and routing labels on vehicles upon entry.
  • Associate and install OBDII tracking device.
  • Direct transporters to proper car drop zone.
  • Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such.
  • Work in cooperation with safety leadership in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, i.e. assist on sale days driving vehicles through Auction sales lanes, etc.
