About The Position

PACCAR is seeking a Calibration Engineer for its Vehicle Calibration team, focused on calibration, integration, and in-vehicle verification of heavy-duty and medium-duty vehicle functions. The role supports testing of PACCAR’s autonomous vehicle platform and works with a global, cross-divisional team to develop and calibrate vehicle functions for North America. The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering development and testing for PACCAR’s truck and engine divisions. It is located in the Skagit Valley, approximately 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington. The position independently calibrates, verifies, releases, and implements software for vehicle-level features across vehicle configurations and powertrains. It also translates customer and system requirements into calibration data and configurations, develops and executes verification test plans, investigates issues with partner teams, and supports software releases and ongoing calibration improvements. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate technical field and at least three years of experience in vehicle development, integration, or testing. A current CDL, or the ability and desire to obtain one, is required. The position involves lifting up to 25 pounds, repeatedly entering and exiting truck cabins, and travel of up to 10%. The annual salary range is $80,800–$120,800.

  • Develop and execute test plans for requirements verification; document and report defects with sufficient detail to support resolution.
  • Provide technical feedback on proposed product changes, including implications for calibration, testing, and feature behavior.
  • Support calibration, verification, and release of running-change software, managing assigned releases with limited oversight.
  • Translate customer and system requirements into calibration data and configurations, and flag ambiguities or conflicts for resolution.
  • Partner with Controls, Software, and Validation teams to troubleshoot issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive defects to closure.
  • Deliver assigned work on schedule and maintain calibration quality standards.
  • Maintain working knowledge of software functionality, feature interactions, and product requirements for assigned functions.
