About The Position

The Virtual Construction Manager leads the strategic, managerial, and coordination aspects of BIM and Virtual Construction across multiple projects. The role connects executive project management, BIM strategy, and construction delivery so digital workflows support schedule, cost, risk mitigation, and field execution. The manager provides technical leadership across projects, oversees BIM coordination and Virtual Construction deliverables, establishes standards and quality processes, guides technology and workflow decisions, and manages and develops junior staff. The role also supports budgeting, trade partner relationships, cross-department collaboration, business planning, and DAVIS’s position in Virtual Construction innovation.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience.
At least six years of Virtual Construction, BIM, or VDC experience in a commercial construction environment at a General Contractor or large trade partner.
Strong technical background across BIM and Reality Capture technologies and software platforms.
Advanced knowledge and experience collaborating across VDC, Field Services, Quality, and Safety teams.
Proven experience managing people, BIM trade coordination workflows, and deliverables on complex projects.
Demonstrated ability to establish and enforce standards and QA/QC processes.
Experience overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to guide tool selection and workflow decisions.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Strong understanding of construction means and methods.
Ability to connect technical data to business decisions.
Ability to oversee model-based coordination milestones and connect them to field activities.

Responsibilities

Lead high-level BIM trade coordination from planning through completion, including coordination meetings, clash detection and tracking, integration of shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs, and maintenance of coordination logs and reports.
Ensure coordination solutions are constructable and aligned with the master schedule, look-ahead planning, procurement timelines, and field execution strategies.
Establish, enforce, and communicate BIM Execution Plans, modeling standards, LOD requirements, and data workflows across projects.
Oversee the development and quality control of Virtual Construction deliverables, including coordination findings, site logistics, and RFP visualizations.
Provide technical leadership on complex coordination challenges and promote effective use of BIM/VDC tools, workflows, and model-based analysis.
Evaluate, select, and support adoption of BIM/VDC hardware, software, and platforms; establish practices for model calibration, updates, and field implementation.
Assist with Virtual Construction budgets, project estimates, change tracking, and financial updates to project teams.
Build and maintain relationships with trade partners and project teams, set coordination expectations, and support Virtual Construction schedules.
Manage and mentor junior staff, conduct performance reviews, lead training, and support continuous improvement of workflows.
Promote cross-department collaboration and represent DAVIS at industry events and external presentations.
Contribute to business planning, budgeting, and positioning the company as a leader in Virtual Construction innovation.
Oversee model-based coordination milestones and connect them to field activities.
